Mission:
The (Lead) Structural Engineer designs and calculates steel structures as well as verifying the strength of complete transport arrangements to ensure safe execution of the project. He, or she, provides “up-to-date” engineering advice and support to the projects and assists in the development and improvement of structural engineering methods, tools and equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for coordination and alignment of working methods, tools and systems
• Contribute in the preparation of projects, as well as various R&D projects
• Contribute actively in the quality control within the Structural Engineering department
• Report to the Manager Engineering and support with development, implementation and maintenance of business processes
• Guide and develop (Junior/Medior/Senior) Structural Engineers
• Answer enquiries needed for a successful acquisitions process or project
• Responsible for strength check of vessel and cargo and additional structural items
• Prepare transports/installations and have documents checked and approved
• Assist in the development and improvement of structural engineering tools and methods
• Provide engineering advice and support to other disciplines as well as external parties

Requirements:
• Completed Bachelor or higher in the field of naval architecture/aerospace engineering
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a focus on structural engineering
• Experience with FEA methods and understanding of structural design principles
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, Dutch would be an advantage.

Mission:

The Engineer shall have experience in engineering of:
1. Engineering business in the Marine/Offshore with knowledge of national/international rules and regulations.
2. Calculations of steel and concrete structures for Marine and Offshore structures.

The Engineer will be involved on projects ranging from conceptual to detailed phase with engineering tasks on these projects acting as “the spider in the web”.
Additional task:
1. Preparation of proposals.
2. Is able to act as a mentor for less experienced employees.
3. Can be called upon to do interviews for recruitment & selection.
4. Can be called upon as a trainer.
5. Is able to support Business Development /Procurement in meeting clients/vendors.
6. Also evaluations of (vendor) bids with involvement of technical clarifications
and review of documents and inspection assistance is part of task.
7. The lead engineer have responsibilities concerning lead of a full Marine
Offshore project team and reporting towards project management for his discipline.

Our Civil department is looking for a senior engineer with 5-10 years of related experience in engineering and construction business in the (petro)chemical or governmental buiness with knowledge of national/international rules and regulations. The engineer shall have computer skills and is able to communicate in English language, verbal and in writing, and shall be VCA VOL certified. The Offshore Engineer should have experience in working knowledge of Dutch codes.

Profile

• More than 5 years of experience in a similar function

- Fired heaters
- Heat exchangers
- Vessels

The Engineer shall have computer skills and able to communicate in English language, verbal and in writing, and shall be VCA VOL (advantage) certified. A knowledge of Dutch would also be an advantage.
